TITOLO IN INGLESE
“Titolo in italiano”

In this video, I will teach you the cooking method used to pan-fry steak “alla pizzaiola”, which means “pizza style”. The name comes from the basic ingredients you need for this recipe: tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and oregano. It’s a quick, easy, and flavorful second course – perfect for when you don’t have much time.

METHOD

Mince the garlic.

Cut the mozzarella into thick slices.

In a skillet, sauté the garlic with water and olive oil for 1 minute.

Place the steaks or hamburgers into the skillet and cook the meat, covered,  over medium heat, for approximately 1-3 minutes per side. Add salt to taste.

Cooking time depends upon the thickness of your steaks or hamburgers. You may love them cooked through or truly rare.

Pour in the tomato sauce at room temperature. Add salt and spices to taste. Let the extra water evaporate until the sauce thickens to your preference.

Top the cooked steaks or hamburgers with the mozzarella slices and let the cheese melt. For extra flavour, add capers and olives.

Serve along with some toasted bread. Buon appetito.
